VIA UNIVERSITY COLLEGE CLARE WOODS

Commission for the VIA University College

Artist Clare Woods was commissioned to create a major artwork for the VIA University College in Aarhus, Denmark in early 2015. 

The commission became a 15 × 8 metre painting, which consisted of 20 separate panels, each measuring 3 × 2 metres. Based on past experience, the artist instructed Momart to assist with the art transport and logistics of this large-scale piece.

Momart provided all art handling services for the packing and transport of this unique artwork. To safely deliver all elements from Clare’s studio in Herefordshire, UK to the final destination in Aarhus, Denmark, each of the individual panels were packed in bespoke travel frames constructed by the Momart in-house packing department. They were then loaded onto our specialist art vehicles and transported by road and ferry to Denmark.

“The first big piece that Momart moved and installed for me was a large scale painting transported to Art Unlimited in Basel back in 2006. They did a great job so when this commission for VIA University College in Aarhus came up, Momart was the company I could trust to properly take care of the work.”
