Shipping and Customs Coordinator

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Shipping and Customs coordinator to join our small Shipping team.

The role will ensure the organisation and coordination of import and export shipments on behalf of Momart’s Exhibitions and Gallery Services project coordinators. You will be providing liaison between Momart, the air/sea carriers and HMRC/UKBF, making freight bookings and preparing freight documentation and Customs declarations.

You will have excellent communication, customer service and administration skills, an eye for detail, energy, flexibility and self-motivation to assist your team and manager.  It is essential you have experience of ASM Sequoia, completing entries in CHIEF and CDS  or similar, import customs clearance and air/road freight, and detailed knowledge of Customs procedures and documentation.

Casemaking Technician

We have a vacancy for a full-time, permanent workshop technician in the Packing and Casemaking Department. Reporting to the Packing Manager, you will be involved in the various aspects of handling and shipping fragile works of art, including operation of workshop tools and machinery, fabrication, wrapping, packing, and completion of operational paperwork.

The ideal candidate will be a team worker with basic carpentry experience, along with general practical skills, a flexible attitude and a keen sense of responsibility. Awareness of health and safety procedures essential, some experience/knowledge of the art industry an advantage.

Exhibitions Estimator

We have an opening for an Estimator in our Exhibitions Forward Planning team. Working within a team of estimators, and liaising with the rest of the Exhibitions Department, this is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong logistical, analytical, numerical and communication skills.

Predominantly you will ensure that UK tenders for major clients are completed timely and correctly additionally international estimates will be completed to organise and coordinate the transportation and installation of fine art in the UK and internationally. The Exhibitions Department works predominantly on behalf of the major museums and galleries worldwide.

You will have excellent customer-facing skills, an aptitude for problem solving, and be willing to work as part of a team. IT skills, a methodical approach, and attention to detail are essential.

Previous administrative experience and knowledge of logistics and the art industry would be a key advantage.

Driver/Fine Art Technician

We would like to appoint a Driver/Fine Art Technician to join our Transport team. You will be handling and transporting a wide variety of high-value artworks across the UK and Europe. A period of art handling training will be included. Our vehicle fleet ranges from Mercedes 18 metre trucks to Sprinters, which all have a specialist fit-out to carry fine art. Our clients range from major cultural institutions, auction houses and commercial galleries.

The ideal candidate will hold a minimum of HGV2 licence, previous comparable experience is also required. A Class 1 licence would be an advantage, though training will be provided if required. You should be a team player, our Technicians work in pairs on each vehicle. We are looking for excellent communication and customer service skills, a professional approach to work and a keen eye for detail.

This position includes 45 core hours per week, with a reasonable amount of overtime required during busy periods, therefore flexibility is essential.
